Summer Swim Fees and Swim-A-Thon
Dear Dolphins Families,
The Board of Directors understands that there have been concerns regarding the recent adjustments to summer swim fees and the requirements for our mandatory Swim-a-Thon. We want to be transparent about these changes and share the "big picture" reality of our team’s financial health.
Sustainability and Growth
Historically, the Dolphins have operated at a deficit every year, including this past year. While we strive to keep costs as low as possible, the reality is that our current structure requires additional support to remain viable. As we have seen recently across the Valley, several pools and aquatic programs have been forced to close. We are committed to ensuring the Selah Dolphins remain a staple of our community, but doing so requires a shift toward a more sustainable financial model.
Hosting Championships
Further complicating our needs is the news that we will be hosting Championships next year. Hosting an event of this magnitude is a significant honor, but it requires substantial funds for equipment and logistics. To ensure we are prepared, we must begin raising these necessary funds during the current season.
Financial Hardship Support
Our goal is to ensure the team can continue to operate without becoming a burden to our families. If you are experiencing financial hardships that make these requirements difficult to meet, please reach out to me or the Board. We are more than willing to discuss your situation with you privately to find a way forward.
We do not want these requirements to add stress to your summer, but rather to ensure that our athletes have a team to return to for many years to come. Thank you for your continued dedication to the Dolphins.
Sincerely,
Anthony Blue
President, Selah Dolphins Board
