    IMPORTANT INFO RESEND

Hi all!  I apologize if you already got this information. There is a few changes so please read it all.  I am resending some of it as I am told some people didn't get it.

Happy almost spring Dolphins! I know you normally don't hear much from us during the winter months, but this year with the construction and fundraising to run the pool there has been more communication. This email contains a lot of important information. Please read it carefully in its entirety.

First, we really encourage you to buy a brick or make a donation to help run the pool this summer. They are still a long way from their goal of money they need to raise to have a 12 week pool season. Click the Parks Foundation link and donate to "fill the pool." Selah Parks Foundation

Second, thank you all who came out in support of the pool at the fundraising dinner in early February.  It was great to see so many Dolphin faces!  That dinner was a HUGE success, but we are still far from a full season that we are hoping for. Please if you haven't already consider buying a brick.
In my last email I asked you to mark your calendar for the softball tournament coming up the end of this month, March 23 & 24.  As of right now that tournament is a go. We will be doing a 50/50 raffle, as well as a bake sale.  We need everyone to provide baked goods.  They do not have to be homemade, but they need to be in small ziplocks that can be sold for $1 each. If you can't drop them off at the tournament that weekend.  Get them to someone who can.  We really need everyone on board with this fundraiser! We need to show the community that we are committed and eager to see the pool open and operated this summer. All proceeds from this tournament go to the pool. We the dolphins have committed to paying for the new starting blocks for the new pool. We need to raise approximately $10,000 to pay for them. This softball tournament is just one fundraiser we will be doing. Watch for the email to sign up to work and/or provide baked goods.  If we aren't all supporting these things it will be very difficult to raise the money we need. Please continue to watch your email for other fundraising opportunities.
Finally, I want to let you know now so you can plan accordingly. The board made the difficult decision to raise the rates for our upcoming swim season. My family has been a part of this team since 2009 and I don't recall the rates ever being raised. Before I tell you the new rates I want to break down what we have been paying. For the first swimmer a registration fee of $95, a swim team only pool pass for $35, and a $40 pool rental fee for a total of $170 for your first swimmer. The second swimmer registration fee was $60 plus the pool rental fee and pool pass, and each additional swimmer was $25 plus the pool rental fee and pool pass. Last year we had to opportunity to work off the $40 rental fee, but not the year before. This year we will not have the pool rental fee, nor the pool pass. It will be all lumped into one fee. It will be $195 for the first swimmer, $160 for the second and $125 for each additional. Basically for your first swimmer it is only a $15 jump in cost. We don't want to burden anyone, but we also see the need of raising costs. We will be renting the pool from SPRSA when we are using the pool and we don't know what that rate will be yet. Also, we need to pay our coaches a wage that is competitive to other teams in our league. We know it seems like a lot, but we felt that it was time. We hope that by letting you know now you can save and plan for the time in May when we open registration. I am happy to answer any questions or concerns you have. Also, our team president Amanda Stevens is happy to answer questions as well. You can contact her at: [email protected]
